Lyoudmila Milanova: My Strength Is Your Inertia
Donnerstag, 5. November 2026 · 19:00 Uhr–20:30 Uhr
Welcome: Prof. Dr. Eleonora Rohland, ZiF Introduction: Prof. Johanna Schwarz (Siegen) How can the surveying and measuring of the earth be made sensorially tangible? In this exhibition, Lyoudmila Milanova presents a perception experiment that dissolves the boundaries between nature, technology, and the body. It focuses on translating geophysical and atmospheric real-time data into bodily forms of expression. At the center is a 3D-scanned body, a digital avatar—this avatar “feels” the Earth—responding to forces that lie beyond human perception. Can the human body be expanded into a resonance chamber for planetary processes—into a sensor based not on rational knowledge, but on sensation? Lyoudmila Milanova worked as an Artist in Residence at ZiF from August to October 2025. In her artistic practice she explores the relationship between nature and its technical representations, focusing on the tension between natural processes and the attempt to control them. Admission is free, please register via the website. The exhibition (5 Novermber – 25 February) can be visited during ZiF’s core working hours: Monday to Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
